Our Team

LISA

A native of Buffalo, NY, Lisa relocated to the Lowcountry in 2006 after graduating college at SUNY Brockport where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Biology.  In 2005 she graduated from the Rochester Institute of Dog grooming in Rochester, NY and has been grooming for almost 20 years. After working at several small salons, she established Paw-metto Pooches Pet Salon in October of 2008 and officially opened our doors in January of 2009.

She is owned by 3 rescue animals - A perfect child Carolina Dog mix named Honeybee, a wild child terrier mix named Shanti and a beefy orange cat named Frank.

She enjoys cheering on the Buffalo Bills, watching Judge Judy, bowling and playing tennis, and is an active volunteer and foster for One Love Animal Rescue.

Random Fun Fact - She has a cochlear implant!


JILLIAN

Born and raised in Roanoke, VA, Jillian moved to the Lowcountry area in 2000 to raise her family.  She began her career with animals as a Veterinary Assistant at several local veterinary clinics before discovering her passion for grooming.  She has worked in the pet grooming industry for 18 years and has been our salon manager for 12 years, specializing in double coated breeds. The hairier the better, she says!

She is owned by six frisky cats - Otter, April, Alf, Zoom, Red and Scout.

She enjoys cruising on the Royal Caribbean, mowing her lawn and playing Township on her iPad (if anyone wants to join her co-op her code is #JES3ZW). 

Random Fun Fact - She has stayed 29 every birthday and she will be a grandma soon!

ALISON


Alison relocated to the Lowcountry in 2022 from Stamford, CT. She began her grooming career in 2017 at a veterinary hospital in Westchester, NY. She enjoys grooming all breeds of dogs, specializing in Poodle and Doodle breeds. 


She is owned by a cat named Binx (named after her favorite character in Hocus Pocus!) and a ferret named Stinky.


She enjoys fishing, watching the tv show Euphoria and sipping on hot cups of thai tea, preferably while visiting her favorite place - Vermont in the fall. 

Random Fun Fact - Alison also has her cosmetology license and is a former human hairdresser!   


KIMI

Kimi moved to the Lowcountry area in 2019 to attend Armstrong University where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Biology.  She began her career with animals in 2018 as an intern at Oatland Island Wild Life Center in Savannah, GA.  She has since worked at a veterinary clinic and an exotic animal hospital.  She worked as a Veterinary Technician for 3 years before deciding to pursue her grooming career.  

She is owned by several rescue animals. A chonky long-haired feline named George, a precocious Calico named Mochi and an energetically loving black lab mix named Terra.

She enjoys reading, cross-stitching and watching cartoons with her adoring husband.

Random Fun Fact - She is an avid bird-watcher and has extensive knowledge of local species!


CAM

Cam moved to the Lowcountry with her family as a small child from Asheville, NC.  She has spent 6 years working in various areas of the pet care industry.  She has experience in kennel management/maintenance, pet sitting, dog walking and is currently pursuing her grooming career. 

She is owned by a loyal ball python named Ziggy and a chonky black cat named Luna (tic).

She enjoys reading fantasy novels, playing video games and baking red velvet cakes for her coworkers.

Random Fun Fact - Cam is an avid horror movie fanatic! 

MARY JO

Mary Jo relocated to the Lowcountry from Augusta, GA last year.  She has been in the pet care industry since 2020 working as a kennel technician and a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital.  She joined our team as a groomers assistant several months ago and aspires to further her grooming career as a stylist one day!

She is owned by a spirited Bichon-poo named Paisley.

She enjoys binge watching True Crime documentaries, reading romance novels and camping with friends at the lake.

Random Fun Fact - Mary Jo is a volunteer for Blue Ribbon Riders, an equine therapy program for adults and children with special needs!


RILEY

Riley relocated to the Lowcountry in 2014 from Southeastern VA.  She began her career with animals in 2017 at the Hilton Head Humane Association working as a kennel technician and helping exercise and bathe dogs.  Since then she has worked at several pet boarding facilities and grooming salons.  She joined our team as a groomers assistant last year and also aspires to become a stylist in the future!

She is owned by a people pleasing Australian Cattle Dog mix named Layla and three cats - Gertrude, Marla and Bonnie.

She enjoys relaxing on the beach, playing softball and walking the nature trails at Hunting Island.  

Random Fun Fact - She competed with her traveling softball team in the World Series Softball Championship in Chattanooga, TN!
